Stress and Anxiety Therapy

Therapy for anxious overachievers in Lansing, MI and throughout Michigan

Working harder is no longer cutting it

You’re used to doing it all — and doing it pretty well — on your own. Still, you’re juggling a lot of responsibility these days, and some new tools could help.

Has Life Been Throwing A Lot Your Way Lately?

It can be hard to maintain the impression of a successful life on the outside when on the inside you feel like things are a mess. Maybe you’ve been thinking about going to therapy but worry it’s not the right time or that things aren’t “that bad.”

But you’re tired of your mind constantly racing, maybe replaying conversations you’ve had or worrying about what’s on your plate tomorrow. You might be struggling to keep up with your never-ending to-do list yet feeling unmotivated to check off even the seemingly simplest things. These days, it feels like life’s moving faster than you can keep up with, and you’re tired of overthinking, over-planning, and/or over-committing.

Others see you as driven, detail-oriented, and diligent, but the amount of stress and anxiety you’ve been feeling lately is starting to affect:

  • Your motivation and productivity at home and work

  • Your time when you’re supposed to be out having fun with friends or relaxing with a Netflix show

  • Your mood and relationships with the people closest to you, especially when you’re feeling easily irritable and frustrated around them

  • Your trust and confidence in yourself, and you find yourself seconding-guessing or dwelling over even the smallest decisions

You just want to feel like yourself and find that grit again.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

  • A bulk of my training was with children, but a big part (including my research) is focused on young adults — particularly career psychology and the transition to adult life! I work with young adults like you because I experienced similar challenges in a demanding career, while also trying to live a balanced life. As a recovering perfectionist, I know how exhausting it can get to constantly put 110% into everything you do but still feel like it’s not enough.

Being on the other side of therapy helped me learn firsthand how to handle stress, develop a better understanding of myself in and outside of my career, and grow as a human being. I bring a level of personal insight along with my professional training in evidence-based mental health tools to the table to help overachievers find more balance and fulfillment.

  • I work well with college students, graduate students, and professionals early in their career path. I especially love working with healing and helping professionals in education and healthcare fields, but I've also worked with young adults from many other walks of life, including tech, law, and business.

  • If you've been thinking about going to therapy or considering it, it may a good time to give it a try. Therapy can be helpful for people who are faced with challenges that are starting to get in the way of their day-to-day or their quality of life. For example, if you find yourself getting stuck on certain things, feeling overwhelmed or unable to do things because of stress or anxiety, or your life at school, work, or in your relationships is starting to be affected, professional support and therapy can help you learn tools to address these issues more effectively.

  • I'm in-network with Blue Cross Blue Shield (BCBS) as a fully licensed psychologist in Michigan (but not BCN). My fee for the first intake appointment is $250, and ongoing individual weekly therapy sessions are $200 (50-55 minutes). If you have another insurance provider and have out-of-network benefits, you may be eligible to receive partial or full coverage of the fee — I can give you a “superbill” to submit to your insurance to seek reimbursement.

  • I know that some days can feel like you barely have time to shower or eat a meal without rushing. One hour of therapy is just 4% of your day and 0.6% of your week. You might be surprised that the amount and quality of work you get done in an hour while working under stress and pressure is probably a lot less than if you spent that time refueling. When life’s busy, let’s cut the commute out of self-care. With online therapy, I’ll hold space for you to spend on just you and your goals from the comfort and convenience of your own home. You can show up in your pjs judgment-free.

  • That is completely up to you! Some people come to therapy with a specific problem or goal in mind, and others find it helpful to include as a regular part of their self-care routine. We can work together to find a schedule and pace that works best for you.
